Per the track comparison part of the title..Heres same track same driver. Both cars. I traded my 18 Base ZL1 for the 20 1LE as I was really only going to the track with it so I wanted something track purposed. The 1LE feels much more confident while being aggressive with it. Both all stock. Air cleaners tires etc..all stock. Both cars are in track alignment per the manual.

Whatever, you know what im referring to..the comparison is obviously a non 1le and a 1le.
I have owned and tracked both cars but I think ill just let you guys figure it out on your own then. Last edited by Snakebt6; 02-12-2021 at 07:34 AM. |

Some people are trying real hard to not have "regular Z" buyers remorse. I assume 100% of the speed difference is in the added 1LE aero? I think i would rather have the ZLE and just remove the wing if i was worried that much about straight line speed

No remorse here. I wouldn’t want the ZLE. I do too much street driving when I’m not at the track. My comment above was because I’ve never seen or read anywhere mentioned a “base ZL1”. No such animal as far as I’ve seen. On this forum above any other our cars should be called what they are, ie ZL1 and ZL1 1LE or ZLE.

Base ZL1 peasants. Kneel before the superior ZLE.

We know ZL1 means ZL1 without the 1LE package, and ZLE means ZL1 1LE. Interestingly, it always seems that when people talk about GT500s, they have to say "base GT500" and GT500 CFTP. Why is there not a similar understanding with the Shelby that GT500 = "base GT500" and GT500 CFTP obviously = GT500 w/ CFTP option?

I can not believe the sand filled panties in here over the “base ZL1” terminology. Wow. We all know what it means. We all know ZL1s are incredible in all forms. Relax peeps. I haven’t seen anyone in here using that phrase in an attempt to belittle or demean a non-1LE equipped ZL1.
I think there’s a solid argument for mag-ride ZL1s even on track beyond their obvious streetability argument. Buddy of mine is breaking all kinds of records in his mag ride grand sport. 2019 ZR1s are mag ride cars which need no defense. The wings on a ZLE aren’t for everyone either. And the SC3R need replacing immediately for any street use. Both cars are amazing. Both cars offer advantages for different buyers. One is faster around a track, one is more comfortable on the street. Both are bad ass. |

1LE is a package, so a base is definitely not a ZLE--base means no packages or other extras.
A true "base" ZL1 would have no Nav, no PDR, no CF dash, etc. |

ZLE is a waste of time on the street unless you happen to live on a mountain road. For street grudge races the ZL1 is going to win every time, and the softer suspension allows it to get off the line better (improved weight transfer) /thread |

Straight line speed was a bit more priority for me than road course speed so I went with the ZL1 and made it even quicker. I'm not a fan of the ride of the 1LE or poking tire look, or the rear wing and canards so I bought what I wanted and customized it even further. No regrets. |
