2018 Camaro 1SS 1LE Ordering
Hi all, this is my first post here but I have a couple clarifying questions about ordering a 1LE at this time of year.
I've read that the order books are closed for the 2017 Camaros but that current orders may be changed for the next week. I'm trying to order a 1SS 1LE but at this point would probably rather wait to order a 2018 model. My questions are: 1: How long do I need to wait until the orders for 2018's open and what is the best way to be at the front of the line for 2018 production? 2: Is there a close guess or definitive date that 2018 production will start (aka when might I get my car)? 3: Would it be better discount wise to try to get a deal on one of the 1LE's currently available at local dealers? 4: For anyone familiar with the discount/rebate system, is it possible to use the GM college discount with any of the other rebates (competitive, GM rebate, etc)? I have been told by one of the salesmen that they cannot, but he is calling around to confirm. Thanks to anyone who can help, this forum is an awesome resource! |

3. Generally speaking, yes. Based on my experience, dealers tend to, if not always, offer more rebates on car sitting on their lots than factory ordering. 4. I believe yes, at least several dealers I went to agreed to stack these deals, some of them even offer pre-incentive price lower than college discount price. BTW, I will consider picking a 17 1SS 1LE instead of a 18 if there is a decent discount. Because for 1SS 1LE, I believe there is only minor change between 17 and 18 (18 has washer fluid sensor, maybe new color&rim; 18 does not have the "FIFTY" steering wheel emblem). Given that you can always change cosmetic options later, buying a 17 then you will have more time enjoy the car (if you can sway a good deal). |

Left out a 1, so the tentative start date has been June 12.

That was me, based on slipping TPWs awhile back. I still expect the start some time after June 12 but for now June 12 is the date.
