Curb rash

Has anyone found the paint code for the ZL1 wheels? (Non 1Le) Or a close alternative.

The Nightfall Gray exterior color from 2016-2018 is pretty darn close.
Not exact but very close.

I don't have a complete answer for you, but see the full set of available wheel paint colors below. Don't worry about the exterior paint color, wheel colors are exactly the same for every row in this table, so I just chose the row for hyper blue metallic (because it was at the top of a page).

My car has OEM SS 1LE wheels coated with WA 784U (Satin Graphite Metallic), a very similar gray to the ZL1 wheel color. Yours might be Sterling Silver Metallic instead, do some extra research to make absolutely sure which one it is, but even my color should be a good match.

I purchased a touch-up kit from paintscratch.com, and the color was a 100% match.

Each wheel is about 1K factory aftermarket, you can get a set for 2K with tires - take-offs.

UGH. Very painful for sure!

Pics of said damage? Let me take my Pepto first

It's a custom 3 layer paint and it does vary batch to batch. For some, it's a dark silver metallic, for others a nearly black charcoal metallic.

WA139X Nightfall Grey Metallic is probably the closest single paint you can get in a touch-up pen: https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorco...?gmcode=WA139X

I posted the actual wheel color chart above and don't understand why someone would try a substitution with a body paint color that is guaranteed not to match. Based on some forum posts, there indeed is batch to batch variance even for a matching wheel color, but if you start with a known wrong color, you won't get better results...

I hit the curb the first week I had mine and just used common flat black spray paint. All gone.

Do people even read these days? He said he had a non-1LE, hence glossy gray paint on his wheels and not flat (matte) black. What a weird thread.

You're right. I didn't read it and assumed flat black like mine

ZL1 wheel color comparison.
I ordered a brand new GM wheel from a GM dealer due to minor curb rash.
Notice the difference compared to the original factory equipped wheel.
Both have identical part numbers stamped on the inside barrel.
The part number is actually the same from 2017 thru 2023.
GM did the right thing by standing by the product and gave me a full refund.

Here's the before and after photos using Nightfall Grey Metallic touch up for the repair.
This is a close up photo using a florescent shop light.
It's VERY difficult to find the repaired area while standing next to it outside.
The problem is...I know it's there! (nobody else would know)
I'll replace it if I can one day find an exact OEM color matched wheel.

Thanks.
I bought them online from a company called River City Creations.
Unfortunately, they don't seem to be in business anymore.
