That head doesn't appear to be salvageable to me. I'd order a new head.

Watching the video very closely it's hard to tell but I think I see a hint of smoke out of the exhaust just before missing the gear, then of course once you missed 4th on came the smoke show. I'm thinking it was on it's way out already and missing 4th just finished the job.

The 2-3 shift is clearly a no-lift-shift. So is the next one. Very high pitch under throttle for a split second ... that's a no lift shift from 3rd to 2nd causing mechanical over-rev.

Street racing notwithstanding, IMO the OP can't blame anyone but himself.

Clearly you haven't seen a 3-2 shift. It never went into 2nd and I most definitely didn't let out the clutch
It didn't see a gear after 3rd.

The shop owner, mechanics, tuner, and vengeance has seen the video. They all agreed it was a free revv.

Good eye, I didn't catch the smoke in 3rd

As Oldman and others mentioned, the cam phase limiter or lack thereof might have caused the problem assuming the tune was good, however, I would also note that some of these stage 3 cams offered by various companies may require fly-cutting the pistons for clearance, thus the need to check PTV.

I'll follow up with the shop and see what they did with the phase limiter.
I spoke with vengeance twice and they didn't mention a flycut. They did however warn to not run thinner gaskets or mill the head with this cam, which means it was right on the bleeding edge of needing a flycut

Based on what I have seen in the OEM tune there is a rev limited in the programming. It isnt all just throttle based.

It made really good numbers on the Dyno, so no complaints there.
Exhaust valve was the one that got tagged/broke off. Wonder if there's a correlation

Yea its spark and throttle based... My point was on these engines the limiter does not act the same. I can be wot on the limiter and the rpm doesn't bounce like a older LS engine does.
