How to dispute warranty coverage

My Camaro's battery died after a week (which I know is a fairly common issue with these cars), and after I jumped it the windows wouldn't move at all. Brought it to the dealer and they just did a "global reset" and it's working again. Should be end of the story since I bought the car CPO 6 months ago... But they are telling me the warranty doesn't cover this because it's not considered a manufacturer defect since they tested the battery and it passed.

1) A battery dying after a week IS a defect, even if it's a common defect

2) Paying $120 for them to plug in a scanner is insane. He said it's not something you can just do on your own and you need their special scanner to do it, but that's still nuts - it's because they have a $120 "diagnostic fee" which I do understand, but still believe this should be covered.

How do I dispute this? I have to suck it up and pay which is not the end of the world (it's a principle thing for me) otherwise I can't get the car back, but I do want to get GM to reimburse me for this.

Yeah unfortunately they already did it so I'm stuck - but 100% will not go back to them.
