This is incorrect information for the OP and his ZL1 1LE

0W-40 is OK for the street and track for the ZL1

ZL1 1LE requires 15w-50 for track use.

FWIW there are probably only a few folks driving the 1LE to the limits necessary to see the difference in grip/aero over the regular ZL1 that apparently necessitated the extra film strength of the 15w50.

HOWEVER, keep in mind that if you blow up on the track in a 1LE and they determine you did not follow the track prep guideline calling for 15w50 you could be fighting an uphill battle to get the track warranty to cover the engine.

For my first track day EVER (not just in the 1LE) I swapped to the 15w50 for this very reason even though I figured I'd be driving at like 0.5-1/10ths lol.

Exactly, best to follow the requirements to maintain warranty even if they may be overkill for someone's first time on track.
