I had one for 2 weeks and sent it back to Range because the transmission kept going in and out of trying to lock up the convertor. Removed it and all is good. I know it works for some but it did not for me so I got my money back. I have an extended warranty and will let GM worry about the shudder. Eventually they will get tired of seeing me

I also have the Range unit and no issues but still had the "fart" on startup until I pulled fuse 51 which leaves the exhaust open on NPP units. I will also add I like the sound much better after pulling the fuse.

I use a Range all the time now. It does help with the shudder greatly. I have tried both with and without, my car is terrible not using the Range. I am taking mine in soon to have the new flush done, hoping with that and the Range it will be good for a long time...we shall see.

You most likely have it. GM has an optional performance exhaust with four pipes but I've never seen anyone with it. The multi-mode exhaust has valves on the pipes to route more or less gas through the muffler, depending on driving mode set and throttle setting. If you have a fuse in the F51 spot in the fuse box under the hood, try pulling it out. You should hear a difference. The valves stay open.

Yes, NPP is the GM code for Bi-modal exhaust or performance exhaust which has adjustable sound modes and has 4 exhaust pipe tips.

Just got my Range two days ago. Installed it and love it. Works perfectly with no problems whatsoever.

It should, AFM mode screws around with the torque converter operation and the Range unit stops AFM activation.

Update: Had the Range for just over a year and approx 13,000 miles.

Zero issues. No CEL’s, no A8 shudder, etc. Works great.

Also, left it plugged in while the car sat for 15 days while I was on vacation. Started right up like “normal.”

Excellent device.

I have run the Range for several weeks now. When car is shut off, there is an LED on it that is still on- so mine -DOES- draw power; and the instructions said to unplug it if it's gonna set for several days or longer.
I just bought an extension with switch in line, that works very well also- just slung it over the steering column, and switch is right on top.
Car doesn't get 30~mpg now, it's down at about 26-27. But so what? No more exhaust fart, or lag. And no vibration or shudder from tranny either.

Does the module stick out very far? Is it in the way of getting in and out of the car? Also, will it do any harm to the afm system being disabled all of the time?

No and no...I use mine all the time, just don't leave it plugged it for an extended number of days if the car sits without being driven, it still draws power when the car is turned off. I have a switch on mine.
