Tickincg/clicking sound when turning

Just within in the last few days i noticed a clicking/ticking sound coming from what sounds like the rear half of the car, and it alternates from the left and right depending on what direction im turning towards, and it seems to be getting louder. The ticking/clicking happens when the steering wheel is turned more than 90 degrees, and sounds like what a playing card would sound like when hitting a bicycle wheel spoke. Anyone know what it could be? Due to work, i cant take the car to the dealership till next week. Any help, advice, and knowledge is welcome

Search for rear differential service bulletin on this site. Take it to dealership and they will put the right fluid in the rear diff.

Idk if thats it. Those with the rear diff issue describe theirs like a groan or growl. Mine is more like a ticking sound, just imagine yourself walking by a picket fence and hitting every post with a stick as you walk. It sounds like that. And its most audible at speeds above 15mph

Bring your Camaro into the dealership ASAP I had the same problem the rear axle is causing that ticking noise on Sunday I heard the ticking and I was driving down a street that I drive on daily and went to turn on the left side where I heard the ticking and the axle came completely disconnected so I had to call roadside assistance to get towed to the dealership where I work at turns out the bolts for the rear axle was broken. I only hear the ticking sounds a low speed around 20 mph or less

Hello Techn9cian805,

I’m sorry to learn your Camaro has developed a ticking concern and recognize how displeasing this could be while driving. Since we are not certified technicians, we’re unable to speculate the root of this concern. However, we’d be glad to set up an appointment at your preferred dealership at a time that works best for you.

Please send us a private message with your current mileage, full contact information, and preferred dealership if this is of interest.

The clicking noise you are describing was posted in an earlier post by Razzaa which I explained what I thought it was here was my reply.

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=463175

I have heard a noises from mine when cornering hard, I don't know if it is the clicking sound you heard but on my Camaro it turned out to be the wheels needed to be re torqued to 140 ft lbs. The car original where only torqued to 120 and they add slip of paper in with the owner manual stating they needed to be torqued to 140. The best I can describe the noise is if you ran the car hard then parked it and you heard that cracking noise from the rims which is from the metal hub heating up the aluminum wheels and the wheels cooling faster than the metal causing them to slide on one another making a cracking noise. I hope this helps!
