Yeah, as usual, NASCAR is pretty loose with names. How's this for loose? In 2017 Stevenson Motorsports was the first to field a Camaro GT4.R in the GS class in IMSA's CT Series. IMSA is under the NASCAR umbrella. The GT4.R is essentially a ZL1 1LE with an LT1 engine. So this was done 3 years ago. And is closer to the real thing. See how that works, lol?

This is fairly old news, They rounded the nose of the car off more due to issues with bump drafting on the old nose shape, so they renamed the car while they were at it. It actually does have very small protrusions where the canards would be as well. I dont think it will add a lot of downforce but its something the other brands dont have up front.

They had to do something to help the Chevies out! The ZL1 racecar introduced back in 2018 won 4 races that year and last year in 2019 the racecar won only 7 races! The Mustang and Camry models dominated last year especially the JGR teams for Toyota and SHR for the Ford Mustang.

Those side by side pics are from 2017 when they were going to run the 2018 ZL1 starting in February 2018.
