My past 4 cars have been manuals. 92 Camaro, 02 WS6, 06 GTO and 12 135i. I got the A10 because I wanted to and I have no regrets in my decision.
It's fun to row the gears. But GM did an awesome job on the A10 and how it keeps in the correct RPMs. |

My GF makes twice as much money as I do... she still doesn't drive my car.... no one does outside of the mechanic (and thats just pulling it in and out of the bays lol...)

My girlfriend is the only person that I let drive, the "race car". She is rusty in changing gears, but actually does pretty good.
See, the ZL1 puts a smile on anyone's face....

I went the other way recently. Had 4 GM cars all with the M6. Loved them all. This A10 equipped ZL1 is just to easy to drive, and is super responsive. I dont have any friends who would ask to drive my cars. Nor would I ever ask to drive theirs.
Seriously if something ever happened to your car when your buddy was driving.....it might be ugly.

All my Camaros that I have owned over the years have been manuals. My ZL1 is the sixth Camaro and it is a manual too and no I wouldn’t let anybody drive it. The A10 is supposed to be faster but I wanted to shift for myself and not the computer so I would have total control when I’m driving it. And I think it’s more cool to have a manual than an automatic anyway. I’m not bashing automatics either but think a 6 speed is the way to go for me!! And with all the talk going around manual transmissions will be replaced by a form of automatic one day so I will drive and own one as long as they are built.

I let my buddy drive mine because he was looking (seriously) at purchasing one. Ended up just getting a new M3... :(
The wife can drive it whenever she wants to. (Which is almost never) |
