Take it down the quarter mile and check your mph.

Why? The intake isnt causing his power loss.

Take the dyno sheet and car back to the dealer and tell them the car does not put out the claimed horsepower. Let them diagnose it before you blow it up with all the dyno runs and passes. They can reload factory tune and start from scratch so you can still have your warranty. You are really stuck with them having to deal with it so your not to blame for trying to fix it yourself.

Kind of like finding a ghost.
You know somethings wrong, but no flags pop up. The only way to diagnose this is through process of elimination, and without a MIL code, the dealer has no evidence to present to GM to get any kind of pay for this diagnosis. The OP may have to pay up front to find the cause, but once the issue is pin pointed, if it's a warranty item the OP should be reimbursed.

The only way to find the issue is to put the stock air box on reload the stock tune and start fron square one. They may have loaded the incorrect tune with the intake. To many variables just guessing. Definitely not good to keep running the crap out of it to diagnose the issue. Could be Mass air problem or blockage in the converter but something is causing fuel changes that will eventually do damage that will be irreversible without a new engine. If it runs good cold then gets worse as it warms up is probably a bad cat. Uncap the exhaust with a test pipe and try it is where I would start. Process of elimination is a nightmare unless you have another car to swap parts off of. The dealer will be able to test everything and diagnose with their equipment.

Took it to the dealer earlier this week for the 3rd time informing them of the second set of dyno charts that show 80 WHP deficit to another like 1LE. They agreed to keep overnight and reverified coding was correct for the application (to include the air intake). No defects were noted. Without any codes, they were at a standstill to diagnose.
I then contacted Chevrolet Customer Service Help line in the hopes Chevy engineers will get involved. I'm awaiting to connect with a rep at this time. Since it visited the dealer again, I felt obligated to put it back on the chassis dyno to verify it still is not repaired. Tonight's dyno chart - same Dynojet dyno as the 2nd set of charts - last visit (same visit, same operator, etc). Engine performed worse and continued a downhill slide. 3rd run resulted in a flashing CE light which extinguished after cycling the ignition. Operator logged with HP Tuners on the fourth run (I didn't know he was able!) and noted several issues: -ignition timing at WOT was zero degrees (should be 20-30) -cat temps were 1873 degrees -cat overheat was on past 3600 rpm -AFR (likely from cat overheat protection) was full rich Codes in the computer were 0300 and 1380. Drive home the Check Engine light stayed constantly on. Bit alarmed at this, I called Onstar to see if they can tell me what is wrong and/or if safe to drive home. They said everything looked normal (!) and if I felt comfortable to continue to destination. I noted normal operation - gingerly returned home. CE light doesn't extinguish so...as my Onstar notification stated tonight on email ("An issue with the emissions system in your 2018 Chevrolet Camaro has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days.")...will be taking to the dealer first thing in the AM for service. Very unfortunate as this car was to be shipped to Germany on 15 Dec (reason I bought a new car - new job in Stuttgart for a few years). Also reason for my compressed timelines. I would go ahead and give each plug wire just a little tug and make sure they are tightly seated on the plug. My passenger side front plug wire was barely on and under heavy acceleration it would come off just enough to cause a misfire. Normal driving it was fine. May have to take something smaller than your hand to push that one on due to a lot of stuff in the way on that side.

jwcassidy: I confirmed plug wires were installed fully this AM.
Dropped the vehicle off at Chevrolet at 8:15 this morning for the 4th time / same issue. This is their issue to correct. Love the car, but last dyno visit, operator calculated 266 HP at the crankshaft vs 455 rated HP. |

Hopefully they will get it worked out. Sucks you have to go through it mine had few issues after procharger and I still have worries that something will go wrong. Seems as though I would have had more confidence modding my Boss 302 before trading it in on the 1le.

Took my 1LE 2018 all stock with 1600 miles on wed to the track at PBIR. it was 41 degrees and so packed i couldnt get the tires warm. They were rock hard and couldnt launch for anything. My times were 13.07 at 109mph which i thouggt was pretty low but couldnt get off the line without massive wheel hop. Car feels strong though.
