Smoke from exhaust pipe

I posted about a week ago that I had a popping sound coming from the right side that I thought mitt be from having a 93 tune but running 92 gas. Well now the pop is gone but today as I was pulling into the parking lot I noticed some exhaust smoke in my rearview mirror, I thought nothing of it but when I turned my car off and got out I noticed that the exhaust smoke was still coming out of the exhaust but from the right side only. This continued for about 2-3 minutes in little spurts. I am concerned due to the popping earlier and I don't have anyone here in Hawaii to work on my car as of yet. I am trying to tell myself to calm down because it's only coming from the right side. I think if it was an engine problem it would be coming from both. Maybe something wrong with that muffler? Thoughts?

Are you sure it wasn't steam? The mufflers have been known to hold water. Might have one with a plugged drain hole. Steam will dissapate pretty quick. Actual oil smoke will stay as blueish smoke as it blows away.

If it's actual smoke, I'd have the dealer take a look at it. I know the L99s have a bulletin for valve cover/PCV/lifter issues, that can cause smoke.

that's it.

ticking noise from the right side of the engine AND excessive smoke = L99 lifter issue. It is a known issue and you are covered.

Does the lifter noise have anything to do with spacecowby's cam swap?

Well mine is ls3 so l99 lifter wouldn't cover me plus cam equals no warranty. Took it to the shop they checked everything and said it's just water and everything is good.
