2017/18 1LT Technology Package Option

The 1LT comes with an optional technology package that gets you Bose speakers and an 8 inch display. It's $800 on 2017s and $900 on 2018s. Is it worth it? Is the display better or just an inch bigger? Does the light bar piping(surrounding top of the 8 inch display) light up on the 1LT like it does on the 2LT? The 2LT has piping lighting throughout the cabin. Just curious how to make the 1LT piping at the top of the 8 inch display light up. Thanks in advance.

I have the Tech package on my 2017 1LT, and the piping does light up only in white. Love the Bose surround sound it is the only thing holding me back form getting a louder exhaust.
The difference between 7" and 8" is not much if your young and have good eyes (Hi Hi) but I use the Android Auto and WAZE map a lot and I thinks it's worth the money.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have to do anything to activate the white piping or is it just an automatic function (dusk to dawn feature)?

The 7 inch display is not nearly as nice as the 8 inch display... The piping lights up in white only, unless you have the spectrum lighting package.

7 inches vs 8 inches

Definitely go with the 8” screen. It also gets you other features like Apple Car Play etc. I was reading a brochure on the 18 Camaros at the Chevy dealership after I bought my 17 1LT, and it said for 18 the 1LT package comes standard with the 8 sp auto trans. Not sure that’s the case, but that’s what it said!

The 7" inch screen has Apple Car Play. But yea I'd go with the bigger screen.

The ones with the manual are listed under LS models now

FYI... There is only white light piping on the back of the display. Not in the doors or the cupholders UNLESS you have the lighting package. And definitely go with the 8" screen. Absolutely worth it in my opinion.

Yea this information is incorrect, Waze IS working for all Android Auto compatible cars currently. I've been using Waze in mine for 2 months now.

I have an Iphone 7 and can confirm Waze doesnt work on with Apple Carplay. Researched about it and it seems its been a request since forever, so I dont see them(Apple) changing it. Android it is.
