Very true. Some localities even have specialists do the calibration so they don’t run into the issue of noncompliance.

I suppose the differences between localities, municipalities and districts is the reason why folks feel like they can skate by on calibration claims. It’s true in some cases and that leeway is why people take it to court with that sliver of hope. It just shouldn’t be taken to be a definite...more like a Hail Mary.

Your comment is exactly why Waze doesn’t need to integrate cellular GPS speed into CarPlay; you would use what Waze displays as your defense once you are told that the date of the last calibration is written on most tickets.

Regardless of which is better (Android or iOS), I went and bought my first iPhone after the whole Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich debacle.

Had a phone that was a little over a year old that was bricked because it wouldn't run after a certain update level and was unable to get it to run on the previous version of s/w (because Android wouldn't allow users to go backwards). It was the day before our wedding and I was leaving the day after for our honeymoon. I spent the first day of my honeymoon at Sprint trying to get that POS to work, just to have to buy another phone.

About 3 months later I had a tablet that was less than a year old suffer the same fate. Taking a $1000 hit on hardware in a year really left a sour taste in my mouth.

That was my first apple product (iPhone 5), ran that thing up until the 6S+ came out and upgraded for the larger screen. Been using it for 3+ years.

Ive often told people during this debate that I prefer iOS as it is "boring", it might not have the absolute most recent faddy feature of the day, however it is reliable and will continue to be supported by apple on the hardware.

Just upgraded to iOS 12, runs without a hiccup on a 3 year old device. I haven't had to do anything more than clean it every few months, not as much as a screen or home button has been replaced.

The only evidence is his or her checklist before their shift and their word. They calibrate it and write down or enter it on the tablet it was done. There isn't some elaborate calibration certificate for every time the gun is turned off and on. The judge will ask the officer if it was calibrated, they will say "yes" and the judge tell you to quit breaking the law and pay your fine. My girlfriend is with the state police and she hears the same excuses every Monday in court. But go fight it, it's good job security

Once again, your gripe is with Apple, take it to them. Waze cannot implement something that the manufacturer will not allow.

You are correct, your speedometer is not required to be 100% accurate. However, there is a requirement that it be within 2.5% if I recall the standard correctly. Meaning at 50 mph you are within 1 mph.

Also changing rim size has zero to do with any speed change. It's rolling radius of the tire. So if you went from 20s to 19s but increased the aspect ration correctly it should have little difference.

At any rate, we all have different needs/desires/lifestyles so who really cares how someone else does it? I'm glad you are satisfied with your way of doing things.

Sorry i just noticed your response, Is it in English? As your the second paragraph i can only read. I was pointing out simply there are other methods out there that make things easy or easier. No need to get your panties all bunched up with your smart a$$ remarks, also i can give 2 shitss that your glad i am satisfied but thanks anyhow it means so much to me.

I really like the option to just turn on "alerts" for trips where you know the route but just want to receive reports on road conditions, police, etc.

Just was playing around with the new apps, a bit disappointing that the Carplay versions limit the functionality and views, but better than nothing

WAZE was great up until the last 6 months or so.

Here in LA it seems to take routes that are the most traveled and crowded.

Used Apple Maps for the same route and it avoided highly traveled / congested roads.

Anyone experience the same with WAZE lately?

Nope but I'm in Georgia... Most of my experience with it is in Augusta; what we call horrible traffic other major cities would call great traffic flow. However I have used it in Atlanta a fair amount as well and it works very well there. I guess it depends on the city, how many users are in the area, and if the city participates in the waze traffic/ city planning thing (can't remember the name of it).

Good point for me waze is working with CarPlay
(US Nav not compatible with EU Nav)
Bad stuff for GPS speed
Automatic radars flash you if you are 1km/h above...
GPS speed lags though. I don't trust it.
