The GT4 is a different sound and very unique. Since the motor is right behind you and no glass or barrier to isolate it, it is not an "exhaust" only sound. It is a mixture of engine, intake, and in the upper RPM's exhaust. As far as power, before I had mine and based on numbers alone, I would have agreed with you and I was a little worried. HOWEVER, real world, the GT4 is MUCH faster than its numbers show. Firstly, I think Porsche underrates their figures, and secondly, I think their drivetrain loss is pretty low. This car flat out FLIES. It feels MUCH quicker than my SS 1LE, especially in the upper RPM range. The 4.0 motor in the GT4 revs really quickly as well. Having said that, I do have the PDK version. Not sure if you would get the same feeling from the manual, but probably very close.

Not taking any away from the car its an awesome car and if I could have one of everything I liked I would own one. That being said my cars are highly modified something you cant do with a Porsche with out being black boxed (so I would want a min of 600 wheel stock given their weight advantage) as well as work on your own car or you will also get black boxed and take a hit in value. My cars are all full long tubes no cats and corsa and the lowest hp was 650 wheel but that is changing as I type and the highest is 1000+ wheel. I have ridden in a 2021 gt4 and the handling is awesome but the raw power and sound doesn't do it for me personally but I have a few screws loose so my wife says...she's right by the way lol.

I had a stock C6 Z06 and even that was not much fun in 1st gear, as all you got was wheel spin and bouncing off the traction control. These days I am more about a balanced car and balanced power for the chassis. The SS 1LE fit that bill, as does the 718 GT4. But, you do you. Muscle cars and straight line are fun, but I am not into that these days.
