I wish I could run the stock Goodyears in the summer but heard they're awful in the rain. We plan to do some road trips in the SS and it's bound to rain at some point.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 are great in the wet/dry but summer only. I put the Michelin A/S 3+ All Season on my Mustang and they where good all year long. But the Mustang was only pushing 380hp/420tq not 455/455. If i was going all season i would get the Michelin

The stock SS tires are fine in the rain in my opinion. I use my car as a 3 season daily driver and never experienced any issues with rain. I don't use it much in the winter and never in snow.

Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires are good and they have an excellent treadwear rating-300! I put some on my 2016 2SS about 6 months before I traded it in on my ZL1 and I was really pleased with them. Continental does offer a multi season tire version of the Contact Sports that you might consider and they are usually cheaper than the Michelins.

I'm not happy with the 285 BFG all seasons I put on. Serious lack of rear grip in the rear. Can't wait to burn 'em off.

Talk to your dealer. There have been members here who asked the dealer to install all-seasons as part of the purchase agreement. The factory will not ship it that way.
I greatly prefer my all-season tires to the run-flats. I do have 2 sets of wheels. This will be my last summer on the run-flats. Then I will have all-seasons on both sets of wheels. You can find wheels on ebay for a decent price.

Fine on slightly wet roads, definitely a hazard in a downpour. Ask me how I know—last time I got caught the ass end kept sliding left and right in every puddle until I slowed down to 35 mph and put on my blinkers (talk about embarrassment when CR-Vs and the like zoom past you). Oh, and I was nowhere near entering boost, before someone says why I flogged the Maggie in the rain.

I have Michelin as3+ stock size on for a few months, mine is DD. I went thru oem GY rf in 15k hated those barrels. Michelin pilot super sports lasted 20k, loved those tires, but winters were dicey. As3+ now seem ok, will keep grip with controlled punch. Cornering is a little softer than the super sports. IDK longevity yet. I keep spare in trunk.

I have had BF Goodrich Comp-2 A/S on mine for about 3000 miles now and haven't had any issues with traction. I've driven in light snow without any problems. I've done aggressive downshifting and heavy throttle in sub-20 degree weather with no loss in traction.

I did get them to spin at a stop light once when I got too aggressive with the throttle while engaging 1st gear at 2500rpm with ambient temps around 40 degrees. That was fun.

I have these BFG tires and there are many good reviews of them on this forum. My Gen5 SS came with P-Zero summer tires which were absolutely terrible in rain when the temp was below 45 or so. Seriously dangerous.

The BFGs not only equal the P-Zeros on the butt-o-meter, but also on the time slip. And as daily driver tires, they track better and are quieter, too.

Yes, you can order anything you want at the right price. They will build you a Camaro trimmed in gold if the price is right.

There's always someone that says they drive in 10 feet of snow on racing slicks and then someone that says you'll die if you drive in 39 degree weather on summer tires. The truth is somewhere in between. The stock goodyears hate standing water and heavy rain, they will hydroplane at relatively low speeds. You don't have to change to an AS tire to significantly change this, there are summers that will do much better, but there will be compromises as well, like ultimate dry traction. You don't have to make giant compromise to significantly increase the wet traction. My old 2010 SS with P-zeros (forget which type) was pretty amazing in the wet. Way better road-holding and lateral Gs without slipping than my WRX with aggressive tires. I was quite surprised, as I didn't expect it to be better in the wet than the WRX.

I drove on my original run flats for 2 winters with no problem. It was fun. Easily controlled wheel spin. At least in a manual. Plus make sure trac. control and stab. is always on and all your spins straighten you right up keeping you in full control. I wore mine down to the safety bars then replace with Cooper RS3 tires. I'm happy with those.
