Lol I'm building the same one on my dining room table, also paint matching the exterior.

Nice! Dropped the engine in today, and finished the interior. The body is taking forever to get right.

Great bright work interior detail around the HVAC vents and gear shift!

I’m going to be filling the inverted mohawk on the roof with filler putty to smooth the roof out then paint a moonroof on it after I paint the body. So I’m anticipating quite a bit of body work for prep. Also, I’ve cut the molding out of the lower grille since the one grille in the parts list is molded open.

Yeah, sounds like you have a lot of body work in your future! You could actually cut out the moonroof and then use a piece of clear styrene to fill it in. But, that would be a lot of work. Painting it would suffice. The problem I’m having is that my car is white. When I spray gloss clear over it it makes the white more of an off-white. It kind of turns it a little yellow. So I keep having to sand the clear back off, repaint the white and try again. Tomorrow, after it is completely dry, I’m going to use a different clear. Hopefully that will do it!

What do you mean about cutting out the molding in the lower grille?

Nice job! I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

This way the open lower grille is really open. I used my Dremmel and exacto knife. Will do a little sanding and then after primer and paint it will be perfect!

Wow! I thought about doing that, but dang that’s a lot of work! It will look really nice though! I haven’t glue mine in yet, so I might give it a go. What else have I got to do? Haha!

Did your grill come like that? I was thinking you cut out all of the holes in the grille, but now I’m wondering if your grille came like that. My kit is different than yours so my grille is not open like that.

My kit came with both the open and closed grilled.

If you’re going to do the open grille just be careful and be patient.

I started putting model cars together in the 60s when I was a kid in grade skool. A kit then was about $1.25. Don't know the prices now. I put together MonoGram, AMT and the most detailed was Revell. I had a collection of parts and about 8 or 9 cars I had stored in boxes that I did over the years and sold all for $75 on Ebay about 15 years ago. The last models I put together were a Mustang and a Hellcat..errr..uhhh that being a P51 Mustang and a Grumman Hellcat WW2 fighter planes.

This thread is awesome, great work so far guys. Used to builds models as a kid too, been thinking about getting back in to it and the only thing stopping me is re-buying ALL the cool stuff I will need to build them.
