Automatic windows

I was today-years old when I learned that by pressing the unlock button on the remote twice, and holding it down, both windows will roll down

That could come in handy on really hot days, when I go to get in the car after it's been baking in the sun.

Interesting. I didn't know that either. Thanks for sharing that information. My 350Z does the same thing, but you only have to push the unlock button on the key fob once and then hold it down until the windows roll down.

I know it’s a safety feature, but it would be nice if they would roll up as well.

Y'all got me feeling kinda smart because I stumbled onto the auto-window trick about 3 weeks ago. I only said that because I learn so much from you guys on this forum. LOL

I believe anywhere out of the US they do roll up. I remember a few years back someone from Europe said they could raise their windows with the remote.

With all these hackers finding ways to get around the security system to steal the car, you'd think someone would come up with a patch to activate window roll up...

There's a setting in the Infotainment to enable or disable this feature - if you want it to work, be sure it's enabled.

Try reading the owners manual (if you don't have one you can download them from chevys website), you can learn all sorts of tricks there.

I read the thing front to back when I got the car (as well as the performance manual).

There's a lot of pages, while I retained some stuff (like it mentioning 5w-30 is ok etc etc), there is always chance to forget something

You also don’t have to press unlock twice. Just hold it down and they will go down.

We need someone to get into the software and figure out how to get them to roll up with the remote. Because if they can be rolled down they absolutely can be rolled up. It’s software encoding that prevents this.

Mercedes has had remote down AND up on their American-spec cars since the 1989 500SL debuted, so it’s definitely not a federal regulation preventing this.

The EU versions can roll up the windows from the remote. You may want to try flashing the EU software to the BCM if you have TDS/SPS

Probably done by the same people at GM who decided that seat memory buttons must be held down to move the seat (for "your safety"), one can no longer simply press them once and have the seat move automatically into position (like it did even in previous gen GM vehicles, the proper way).

At the very least they could've added settings for these and turn them off by default, then they wouldn't be culpable if someone gets their fingers crushed by the window/seat. Then again, obstruction sensors aren't really black magic, they could've added them, too, I swear I would've happily paid $100 or $200 more for the car to help cover these massive expenses (and then some).

As far as the windows are concerned, they’re auto-reversing anyway and work very well. I’ve tried it. So they have no basis for the safety argument.
