So agree you can't MAKE people do it, but you can make it a much harder choice.

This thread reminds me that I had the good fortune of growing up in a country that was once free. Looking back brings fond memories but I cannot say the same for looking forward. Why is the US government on board with selling freedom to the world's wealthiest fanatics while removing it from our own American citizens?

So yeah, ECUs + mixed injection is what got us here, I see a carburetor and mentally puke, they're cool in a retro/oldschool way but besides mechanical simplicity and price, there's only disadvantages to that; computers should be used to AID not REPLACE.
Very well said.

OMG, no!. He had just suggested that you couldn't convert a meat eater to being vegan. My only point was in some if not many cases, you could.

No need to fear.......from me anyway.

Sadly, all you need to do is look around on this site... I lived under the top left quadrant of the Tytler cycle and never again want to, but many more people are okay with that than ever before. Now if a muscle car forum has this many of them, imagine the rest of the venues where people interact.

Carburetors rule. Old school or not, they rule. They make medications mental for illness.

Yeah, just like you could reduce population by just murdering them, durp.

Ethics and human rights are for p*ssies.

A fancier way to say this is the old "just because you could, should you?"

They'd be worn with honor if that were the case.

An electric sports car with good styling and presentation will sell. Maybe not to *this* crowd but there's plenty of other fish in the sea.

I mean presumably you would be able to customize your exhaust note to anything you want right? I'd go with the KITT sound.

I also don't understand why EV cells can't be subdivided like partitions in a hard drive. Why do you have to recharge the whole battery at once? Why can't you just swap one or two cells at a time for fresh ones?

I will reserve judgement on an EV Camaro until I can drive one. The torque is what will put the smile on your face but they will have to tune the stability control and traction control just right to make the car playful. That is one of the things I don't like about the Telsa Model 3 performance. It is actually too planted, which is great one one hand but boring on the other. I think they are afraid with all that instant torque the typical driver would be wrapping the car around a tree. The Performance Model has a cool track mode but it is all done in software with open diffs on both the front and rear motors. They do a great job at making it feel natural though.

I really hope GM finds a way to make an EV sports car fun to drive.
