Talking Camaros crushing exotic cars at the track

Hi Guys,

It's really amazing to read that our Camaros are beating exotic cars at the track. GM raised the bar in performance.

At VIR:
*2:54.8 2017 Camaro SS1LE
2:54.6 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia

*2:50.1 Camaro ZL1
2:49.9 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia

Corvette also doing great at VIR track:
2:47.5 2015 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4
2:47.4 2016 McLaren 570S
*2:47.1 Corvette Grand sport
2:47.0 2016 Porsche GT3RS

At LS
*1:36.02 Corvette Grand sport
1:36.11Mustang Shelby GT350R
1:36.22 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia
1:36.30 2013 Nissan GTR
1:36:36 Acura NSX
1:36.39 Lexus LFA
1:36.39 Audi R8 GT
1:36.44 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S
1:36.77 2011 Porsche 911 GT3RS

1:37.08 2017 Nissan GTR
1:37.43 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4
1:37.66 2016 BMW M4 GTS
*1:37.77 Chevrolet Camaro SS1LE

Our cars competing at the same performance level of those ultra expensive Euro/ Japanese exotic cars. A big win for GM

Very true and all about the comparo's.

Heavyweight is right tho...

Most of the cars on this list weigh 500 lbs less than the Camaro.
Even the GrandSport Vette is 7 seconds faster around VIR.
- Which supposedly has the same drivetrain as the SS 1LE.

I guess all that beef adds up around a road-course.

What do you mean beating & crushing? They are close, probably the same, but the times you listed are slower. A bigger time means it takes longer.

And what is this suppose to mean, the Camaro is a better car? I would take any of the above over the Camaro.

I think he was trying to say that the Camaro is very competitive against these cars while costing a fraction of the price.

Kind of like the minis giving the Vettes, Mustangs and e-types a run in the old days!

Of all those times listed, the Camaros were not crushing anything. Not only that but you're comparing a 17 SLE to a 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia and a 17 ZL1 to a 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia. And in each case the Camaro was slower. I'm not sure if that's a win for the Camaro or an example of just how good those exotics are.

The grandsport is very impressive, especially considering it's underpowered next to a lot of those cars.
