Talking Camaro SS VS BMW M4

I enjoy very much to find out that (the non 1LE) Camaro SS easily beats the BMW M4 German pride for much less $

To be fair, the M4 at $81K comes with a shit load of options. Plus it is a luxury vehicle and retains more value than the SS. So the price difference isn't as much as one would think. If all you cared about is performance then the SS is the winner. But when factoring everything I think the M4 is a much better overall car. Would I buy a M4 for $81K? No. I'd get a Z06 or ZL1. But for those who want a luxury car that has good performance I do think the M4 is an attractive car.

Before I even considered a Camaro I was looking at the BMW 4 series hard-top convertibles. My son's FIL had one and it was sweet. If he said, it once, he said it a half dozen times: "it's a lot of money".
At some point I calculated that it was probably going to cost me about $70K to get into one, and reconsidered my options. That's when I stumbled on the Camaro SS convertible. It was at least $20K cheaper than the BMW, similarly equipped.
I don't know about youse guys, but in my world $20K in savings is really money. I'm delighted with the Camaro and glad I didn't spend the extra money on the BMW.

BMW is only about prestige, here we can see another MT video were the '11 Mustang GT beats the previous BMW M3.
That's why I bought both American Muscle cars. The '11 GT 5.0 and now the Camaro SS. Proudly American made.

This was my experience as well. I was seriously considering an Audi S5 cabriolet to replace my Q5, but it was just too damn expensive. The Camaro SS has a convertible top, better performance and sound, and was $20K Cdn cheaper. There’s definitely a difference in available features and build quality, but anytime I think about that I’m sure a stab at the accelerator will remind me why the Camaro was a better choice.

I hear ya. I went to an Audi dealership recently and saw a coupe that looked pretty decent. It was about $73K. So I'm imagining it has like 600 HP and does a low 11 sec quarter mile or something but nope. It has 444 HP and is a mid 12 sec car. So that is more expensive than a ZL1 and offers nowhere even close to the performance, lol.

No * needed and the SS can burn an entire tank of gas without overheating the engine, transmission, rear, brakes...

My Camaro (SS) concern was this. It has transcends its genre. It’s no longer a pony car. It doesn’t compete with the Mustang. It doesn’t compete with the Challenger. It now can compete with the best from Europe. The M4.

What I wasn’t expecting was how much more I liked the Camaro (SS), than the M4.

BMW M4 - 1:23.15

For reference. Different H2H in 2018

Talking

I added two other amazing MT videos of the SS1LE & the ZL1 Camaro, those two will leave far behind any BMW, they are more focused on eating Porsches for breakfast.

The Alpha platform with a V8 engine provides amazing performance at the track.

MT guys literally complained about cloth seats and lack of options in that M4. I personally love both car, but Camaro’s value is amazing, especially when you get the 2SS.

On the european sport sedans, the performance of the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio already beated all BMW Ms as well of other euro sedans. But its reliability is very bad.
