Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R now available in 20” sizes!
I was checking Goodyear’s website, and they list the Supercar 3R in a 285/30-20 and 305/30-20 now. When I inquired about pricing, I was told they are exclusive to the Goodyear Stores and not available online. $400 each for fronts. $440 each for rears.
This is great for the 1LE guys/gals that do not want a separate set of 19” wheels. |

For anyone who hasn’t driven the 3R: This is the most track tire of “streetable track tires” I’ve ever driven. 100 treadwear is a joke, these tires grip like a Pirelli Trefeo R, but wear like a lightly treaded Hoosier R7... though you’d get double the heat cycles on track from a Hoosier. After only 5 days on track and less than 5k miles on the ZL1 1LE, now showing cords on 3R set #2. I just don’t want anyone buying these thinking they’re a slightly more grippy Supercar G3’s.

3 days on 1st set, maybe 2k street miles. 1.5 days on 2nd set maybe 3k street miles. If these were a true 100 treadwear Track tire like an NT01 or R888/R888R, I’d prolly have 50% life left on set #1.

Sounds like a great tire...if you need it for one event....or 2.
Not so much if you are a track rat and need something that will last.

Damn, that's pretty horrific. My GY SC3s lasted 7000 miles (including 4 track days), which I had thought was bad!

I have been driving them 200 miles round trip but running MPSS (20") for regular driving. On the wear, if Treadwear ratings (100 vs. 220, G3R vs. G3) were a linear indicator of wear, I would agree with it on the rears. With rotating both side-to-side and running -1.8 in the rear, wear has been very even on both rears with both tire versions. The wear rate on the G3R has been about 2.2'ish times quicker than the G3. However, this is on a SS 1LE. I would think on a ZL1 / ZL1 1LE, it would be much less than what I am seeing.
On the fronts, with -2.8 camber, the wear has been much quicker than what I would expect if using 100 TW vs. 220 TW as an indicator. Of course, with quicker speeds and cornering loads in play, the wear would be quicker anyways. So, in summary - great tire, but, Goodyear, TireRack, etc. will be happy with your repeat after repeat (after repeat) purchases! A tiny bit of good $ news, though, TireRack has free shipping, no tax, and Goodyear has a $100 rebate on them! |

With regard to front wear- these tires seem to be VERY sensitive to camber. Both front sets have corded on the inside shoulder, as I've heard every other ZL1 1LE owner report the same. I will say this, when fresh and on track... these tires are absolutely awesome. They feel closer to a Trefeo R (60 treadwear) than anything else. They don't overheat, and have a very good & elastic friction circle. However, I find the wear rate completely unacceptable and cost prohibitive. I don't care if 3R's cost $200 per tire, if I have to replace them after every track weekend... I'm going to be going with other options. |

DO buy these as an alternative to Sport Cup 2, or Trofeo R. They communicate, slip predictably, and grip like stink...even when hot. Regarding front wear - have you had an alignment done in track settings? I discovered about a .25º of toe out, when Chevy recommends .05 and I suspect that is contributing to inside tread wear. |

Also, its really annoying when threads are moved. The OP was clearly trying to make SS 1LE owners aware of the new sizes...
