My car is in for Xpel today. I wasn't going to do the hood, but the installer told me enough stories about seeing stone chips that tore the matte vinyl and damaged or blasted away the paint underneath that I decided to add the hood. He's using stealth on the hood, mirrors and splitter, so the finish will match on all of them. After I see the car, I may have him do the rear spoiler too for the same effect.

Just got the car back yesterday afternoon.....couldn't be happier. The sheen matches the mirrors and spoiler perfect!! Best thing was the price!! $0.00 The wrap on my car looked gray and really distracted from the looks of the car so the dealer had his paint shop work their magic.
You are so lucky!! No WAY any dealers out here would do that for me!! Looks good!

I was dreading getting a car with a wrapped flat finish hood. The morning after I got the car , I washed and waxed it , sans hood , and used a spray wax on a microfiber towel over the hood and buffed it with another microfiber towel. You can't see any difference but the surface is smooth and sealed.
I used Garage One Speed Wax.

I picked up my car from the Xpel installer this afternoon, and the hood (and everything else wrapped in Xpel Stealth) looks great. The best part is it’s guaranteed for 10 years - so no dealing with the OEM vinyl that will nick like paint, can’t be touched up and obviously has no self-healing properties. The installer removed the hood vents and wrapped all the edges, so it looks factory.

Bump up has anyone got more pics or info on either a satin wrap or paint? Thinking of doing this to mine....

As far as black cars, did anyone ever decide to just ditch the hood wrap altogether instead of going with satin?

There are a couple 1LE's running around with no hood wrap, black being one of them, forgot where they were posted.

I peeled mine off as soon as I got it home from the dealer, hated it. That said it looks better on white or red cars.

This is the look I'm going for...once I get my car back from the dealer.
Looks Great!

This is what the Satin Black Avery Dennison Vinyl Wrap looks like to get an idea.I personally love it. It gives it a good contrast between the gloss black.Lucky for me Metrorestyling is not to far from me and I go to their shop to get an idea what it look like before putting it on. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/pictu...ctureid=162453
