If it just a piece of Carbon Fiber on the passengers side I'm not sure I want it.
There is NONE on the instrument cluster side. Only this piece shown on the passenger side ...

If the CF panel doubled as a secret compartment or maybe a mini refrigerator... then it would something to have.

I'd have to see it person, but from the pic it looks like something you find in accessories section at Pep Boys.

I wouldn't care as much about carbon fiber as walking off the lot with a heck of a deal.

I too vote against. I feel it's to out of place being there is no other carbon fiber pieces in the car.

If you like CF.. get it. Otherwise its like having overly glossy section of dash that doesn't really fit rest of the interior.

And on off day it makes perfect convex surface for focusing light - right in your face!

IIRC the piece is cheaper from GM that line item price on window sticker!

Bought my latest ZL1 off the lot as a leftover, it came with the carbon dash piece, at a cost of $500. Honestly I dont care for it. I would have rather saved the money, and just had the standard insert. To me it doesnt add any eye candy to the interior.

Don’t like it, don’t have it.

Shiny / distracting from the rest of the matte finishes.

I, too, was a bit afraid that it would look out of place and reflect sunlight into my face, but the answer is no and no, it turned out to be a great purchase.

The panel helps break up the sea of black leather and plastic on the passenger side, and there has been no time of day, no angle of the sun that would have distracted me, the reflection is always just a sliver and never direct, somehow the exact concavity is just such that it prevents bad glare. The chrome trim around the cluster is way, way worse in terms of glare, I'm actually looking for a decent solution to that (one can see how bad it gets even in my picture below).

Oh, and as a cherry on top, the CF panel has a very cool reflection of the small courtesy light on the right side of the radio at night, looks very classy.

I have had the CF dash panel on my car for 2 years and just as arpad_M said there has been absolutely no issue with glare.

Now I agree with others that the dash panel alone makes the interior look a little unbalanced. So to fix that I added a few more CF pieces to mine.

Looks so cheap to me in the interior of this car. So out of place.
My opinion stands. Very glad I didn't get the CF.

My 2017 has the carbon hood insert but the standard suede dash panel. I bought it used so I guess whoever ordered the car chose not to add a carbon dash insert but I do like the hood insert and think it’s worth the extra cost. IMO Chevy should have both pieces standard on the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE because of the price of these Camaros over the other models!

To me it’s a matter of personal taste, you either like it or you don’t. I’m not planning to add the dash panel to mine anytime soon or ever!

It was an option on my car, but I felt it would look 'lonely' unless, I changed other parts to CF - as Hawk02 has done.
