Track is definitely dead till 1/2 way or so then it takes off. Wish I could have sport or tour throttle mode while in ptm on the track.

Careful what you wish for. You're likely used to the very artificially boosted throttle map in the beginning of the pedal travel in tour and sport modes. Track mode is linear and is that way for a reason.

The reason is that track mode has a true linear throttle map and most people are used to the artificially boosted throttle mapping of tour and sport modes. In track mode you have to press the pedal 50% to get 50% throttle.

I had no idea about this; I mostly use Sport because it is sticky through off/on cycles. So I've tried it the last few days. Track is way easier to drive. The throttle responds so beautifully making the shifts super easy.

Thread revival. Probably the best post out there explaining throttle mapping in the different driving modes. Actually the linear throttle mapping in Track mode is exactly what I feel and my initial reaction was that there is indeed some "dead space" when pressing the accelerator pedal. Your post actually explained this feeling very well. When driving around town I always use Tour or Sport, depending on whether or not I want to do some spirited driving or not (Sport keeps rpm higher in each gear and you feel closer to the optimal Tq all the time). BTW I quoted your original post in the other thread as it contains some additional information that I find useful (https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...7#post10478827)

How? I see no menu item to change throttle mapping.

This very true, not sure how it applies to the camaro. Took a wrx for a test drive in 2016, feels quick on the street, but jump on the freeway and punch it, no difference. Found out that's because with the accelerator pedal at 50%, it's giving 100% throttle. Very deceiving

Exactly. This is not possible.
