I too have noticed surge when I first start it up. It will idle and then surge 2 times before finally staying steady where it should be.

Well, hopefully this will NOT be a common issue. I would think 500 mi. would be plenty of time to go through the recycle.

I'm very hopeful for the Soler unit. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys keep posting as you turn miles on the performance of the unit and whether or not it starts to revert to old behaviors.

If not, I'll just put the $$ into a tune for the same price.

Hi Mack, that is normal, the colder it is the longer it will try to idle at higher rpm's, somewhere between 650-1100. The goal is to heat the oxygen sensor to enter closed-loop fuel control ASAP. Has it gone above 1150 rpm? That wouldn't be normal.

It needs to learn to idle w/ the new TB, that is perhaps the TB's hardest task. If it keeps doing it after 5 starts (w/ cool downtime in between starts), please let us know.

Overall, extremely happy with your product. The slight "surge" I am getting is by far not a deal breaker, and am sure there is a plausible solution if most are not experiencing the same.

Ive got about a thousand miles on mine after the TB install and everything seems to be done as far as the ECU learning goes.... i had a few erratic idles and what felt like a mild stumble at light throttle around 2000rpm in sport mode for awhile but all that cleared up long ago.

Still very happy with this mod.

I've got about 120miles on mine with all types of driving with probably at least 10 or 15 engine starts during normal driving. still have the surge at cold start up, and mild acceleration.

Might be a SS thing. Have over 1000 miles on my TB and no surges. Just smoothness and instant response.
