I just received my Z28 axles and noticed the “right” axle is thicker than the “left”. The “left” axle is also longer than the “right”.

Is this how they are or did I get the wrong parts?

I got them both from www.gmpartsgiant.com

I know that the driver side is now discontinued, so once I saw that, I immediately went looking online to order a set before they are fully out of stock. GM Parts Giant was the only vendor that has them in stock. I had to pay an extra fee of $10 since they are a "rare" part.

Looks like they still have some in stock, so if you are looking to go the Z28 axle route, you should order them asap.

Part Numbers:
Drive (left) side: 23473010
Passenger (right) side: 23473011

I ordered a set from Summit. Still waiting to receive them. Should ship next week.

Keep a close eye on the order. Ive ordered from Summit on discontinued parts but eventually Summit comes back with, “oh, they are no longer in stock”. Summit orders directly from GM if not in stock, as far as I know.

GMPartsGiant actually finds it at other dealers/distributors that have the actual part.

Just speaking from my experience.

I have been told they fit the SS differential just fine. I currently have the Z28 Wheel Hubs on my car with the stock SS axles, so the Z28 axles must fit.

They are about $300/$400 cheaper than some aftermarket sets, Which is a good savings if they are a lot stronger than stock. Out of curiosity what advantage does the Z/28 Hub provide?

Yes, Z28 axles fit an SS and you can put a z28 diff in an SS with stock axles. Wishing I had not sold mine at this point given the cost of aftermarket axles. I have a set of 1le axles in the vert, but if those go, I'm stuck going to GForce or DSS.

Gen6 ZL1/1LE brakes. 2011 Vert - 416/w 230/236 .612/.602 115lsa, 1LE suspension w/32mm rear bar. Z28 diff. ZL1 brakes.
