You're always being tracked one way or another. At least this way you can also track your keys... Oh and how was your trip to McDonalds the other day?

Now I know not to do that, because if they ever have to change the coding on the keyfobs they need 2 keyfobs to delete an old one.
Why wouldn't you take it back to the dealer and have it replaced under warranty?

Because I bought the car from a Nissan dealership, so warranty doesn't cover it far as I know.

My warranty was bought through the Nissan dealership so not really sure what my warranty covers.

Why wouldn't the factory warranty apply regardless of where it was sold/purchased? Honest question.

Agreed. The 36 month/ 36K bumper to bumper GM factory warranty should still be in place. I would think your faulty key fob would be a warranty item.

Car is 3/36 from date of in-service, regardless of whether it was bought new or not and who it was purchased from. Missed opportunity...

Another thing that I am not sure of, but if you have OnStar, I believe with the application on your mobile phone you can unlock/lock the car and also start it up, only if its an automatic which in your case would work! They do charge $10/month for the subscription or something along those lines! Could be wrong but worth it to look it up! Also factory warranty 3/36k stays regardless of who you bought the car from, even if its private party. I believe its only Genesis that gives out a crazy bumper to bumper warranty of 10years/100k miles and its only applicable to the FIRST owner. Rest all manufacturers, I believe the warranty transfers by itself to the next owner.

Even with an OnStar remote start, you still need the press the Start button to turn the car "on". This would require presence of the FOB in the cabin.

That is weird? When they were trying to sell me there services, they told me I could start it up from the application while im getting ready in the morning like brushing my teeth etc. So this way the car warms up or cools down depending on the weather. If the keyfob has to be in the cabin, whats the point? I would just go and press the start button myself....
