Mobil 1 Oil Deal

After reverse engineering the stupidity on one of the Facebook Groups, there's a pretty damned good Mobil 1 oil deal going on at AutoZone right now. I bought 50 quarts just now to stock up.

They have 2 versions of the same deal.

1. Buy 5 quarts of Mobil 1 oil and a M1-113 filter and get like 45% off.
2. Buy 5 quarts of Mobil 1 oil and a STP oil filter and get like 45% off.

It was $90 after tax for 10 quarts and 2 M1-113 filters. I ended up using the STP deal just to get the oil so I've got 20 STP filters I plan on throwing away, but I got 50 quarts at like $6.75 a quart including the cost of throwing away filters. I'll just grab a 6 pack of M1-113A off Amazon later today.

I only see the European formulas for the 0W-40 Castrol and the Mobil One at AutoZone.

Costco generally has a 6 quart-pack for $31.99.

I'm only seeing the European labeled formula as well at Walmart, 12 quarts for $53.

Comes out to $5.93/qt after tax and free shipping. I checked that part number on Mobil 1's website and it lists GM dexos2 under the approvals.

That part number comes up as the right oil, they even let you choose a Mobil 1 filter for $40.99. Weird it doesn't come up on a search except by part number.

I did the 5 quarts and Mobil one filter, then 5 quarts with the STP filter and got 10 quarts and 2 filters for $80. Just going to toss the STP away, makes it about $6.50/qt and my local store has it in stock.

Good deal. I abhor Autozone and their crap parts. Also last time they had good oil deals, no one got the deal.... Whole big brewhaha over it. IT is cheap enough I may take a stab at it though. Try, try, try again. I have enough left for one oil change right now.

Now I’m bummed. I just looked and Rock Auto no longer seems to be offering AC Delco 5w-30 Dexos 1 Gen 2 oil. They had a great price on it, I believe it was around $18 for a 5qt jug. I used to be able to change my oil for <$50.

Rock Auto doesn't include shipping, so you may be able to find a similar price with someone who has free shipping.

Yeah, this deal is nowhere to be found unless you search the part number, you can't even buy the oil by searching for 0w40, and the deal isn't in the ads either. Strange!

I also couldn't get two of them so you may only be able to get one or one per day, idk. Wouldn't let me add a 2nd deal to the cart...

For every 5 qts you have to add 1 oil filter. So for 10 qts you need 2 filters. It let me check out with 50 qts and 10 filters lol.

Unless after my order someone at AutoZone caught it and realized they should put a limit.
