Question about new rim fiting into old tire
I want to buy these new rims (rims only) for my 2013 Camaro LS, and I want to know wether I would have to buy new tires for new rims or can I just swap the old rims for the new rims, as tires have decent life on them. I acquired 1 of the wheels off an old buddy and it came with the tire P245/55R18 and my current tires read 235/60R18.

Swap the tires over if the wheels are the same diameter and width.

The 235/60/18 are taller than the stock tire, and thinner: 29.1" -vs- 28.6" Tall,
and 9.3" wide -vs- 9.6" wide. If you widen the rim, you angle the sidewall, and pull the tire down, so it gets a little shorter. Too wide a rim, it won't bead, or will get harder to bead the tire. That bolt pattern, 5x120.65 is the older year Camaro bolt pattern, now, it's 5x120. The rim will fit, but if it's not hub centric mount, it may wobble. The center bore must be the same as yours, at 66.9mm, for a good solid fit. The lugs will pull the studs on a slight angle. .65mm may not seem like a lot, but mounting the rim LUG Centric, it will be. |

The tires you have at 9.5" wide. The rim is only 7.5" wide. Since the tires are 2" wider than the rim, even if you could get a shop to agree to do it, there is a very good chance the tire will come off while driving. |
