Universal Garage Remote
Hello all,
New to forums here, new Camaro owner. I've read the manual, more than once in the last couple of weeks and found a section on how to program a Universal Garage Remote. My 2015 1LT has the knockout slot in the overhead console but, obviously, not the remote control hardware. I've got a couple dealerships looking for me but am wondering if anyone here knows if this option was actually ever offered on any 5th gen Camaro? My '04 Impala had this and I miss it greatly. Yeah, I know, there are lots of other mods.... Still, I'd like this mod so I can put the remote I used with the B12 back with it. |

yes, my 2011 2SS has it. I also have the GARAGEMATE app which is $50 for hardware and app is free and will run off your phone through Bluetooth. its pretty handy

Thanks Welker.
Do you happen to have, or could point me in the direction of, part number information and wiring requirements? The one dealership that I'm getting any sort of positive response from reports there may be some kind of custom wiring required to get this option installed. I wouldn't have thought it would take all that much but, like it says over there, I'm a newb at this stuff. By the way, former USAF here as well, '81-'92. Got out during the Desert Storm drawdown. Thanks, same questions to you as well. |

Mine has it, and it works good. I think it's actually got 3 buttons for 3 different doors.

Why didn't you just buy the car with it already installed?

Thanks all.
Now, I just need some ammo on hand for the encounter with whomever I can find to get the parts and do the install. |

Because, it wasn't already installed and not a deal breaker.

The three buttons are located on the overhead console, to the right of the Passenger Air Bag/seatbelt warning lights..

Thanks. I took a peek and it doesn't have the three buttons pictured. It was just one long strip of cover. I guess it is not available or an option on a 1SS.
