When it's time for me to replace the Pirelli's, I think I'm going with the Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500's (summer version). I had them on my Z28 and they were great. Very smooth and quiet. I had narrowed it down to the Firestones and BFG Comp 2's, but I think the Firehawks are more bang for the buck.

New tires went on this past Monday. Went with the Nitto Motivo's same size 275/40/20 in all 4 corners. Nice thing is these are a 60K mile tire (we'll see). Plus they can rotate from side to side. Better for wear this way.

Personally I would give these a try too, if you are looking for a long wear tire. (I hope).
Stay away from the Motivos. I have them and will not buy them ever again. I had to have a front tire replaced due to a defect, and I just recently had a rear replaced due to hairline cracks on the INSIDE.

They do seem to wear well, but I have ZERO confidence in these tires.

I have the Firehawk W/O AS. Enjoying them and have about 50k miles on them.

It's great to be able to use the car in more than 40+ degree temps. I definitely lost traction on the PZeros as it got cold. Couldn't safely warm them without slipping around.

I ended up getting BFG Sport Comp-2s. Way cheaper and they feel better than my Pirellis did. Softer, stickier ride. The guy who put my tires on put BFG's on his SS and he said he likes them better for overall driving but he was told that the Pirellis are made specifically to be better at speeds fast than 100 mph. Since I don't drive like a maniac, I think I made the right choice.

I bought a second set of wheels and tires soon after delivery '14 SS vert. I got the General AS03s and have put 3,000 miles on them. They work fine in all respects so far. Perhaps the most noticeable characteristic is that they don't pick up all the grit and fling it off the bodywork.

Also, kudos to Tire Rack for their complete package. Perfect transaction, delivery and functionality. I am completely free of the tire store, at least until one set wears out.

My LT1 RS came with General G-Max AS-03's. For a all season tire they do very well in the rain. They seem to be a hard compound, and when cold will tend to slip a bit. But once warmed up they do a good job of stick. I had the same experience with the Generals I bought for my '01 Blazer Extreme. My only complaint so far is they are noisy, almost truck tire noisy. I have noticed a small amount of cupping on the outside edge of the tread, which I'm sure is the cause of the noise.
