I have the evo 4g... but its the same... i was REALLY frustrated when no one answered. But found a real old thread that someone had said basically bluetooth isn't really "universal" and that there are "flavors". some will will perfectly, while others may have limited functionality, ie no phonebook, therefore no voice dial and all that.

I installed a cell phone holder right beside my gauges, so that's where my cell phone sits when i'm in the car. that way i can see who's calling and i can still dial on my phone.

I would like to forward this question on to one of my internal resources for review. I should have something back soon on this issue. I will update once I get something back.

What happens when you sync your address book with your car?

I got an answer back and the HTC Thunderbolt does not currently work with our system at this time. I hope that helps to answer that question.

Thank you, ive been having some success making calls on it, but I usually have to repair every time I get in my car in order to do so. Is there a possibility of a solution in the future, or is it permanent?

I hope they come up with a solution soon as I am basically stuck with my Thunderbolt for a year and would hate to have to purchase a headset just to use my phone.

Mine has actually been working well recently. Every time I turn on the car, it asks for authorization for phonebook sync, i ALWAYS decline. But I took a call today and it worked just fine. It's a little shady here and there, but it can work.

Thunderbolt & GM Bluetooth

Jeff, thanks for checking with your contacts in tech support. In your response you indicated that the Thunderbolt won't work "at this time". Is this problem something that is correctable by GM?

I am not quite sure as to whether or not the connectivity for this phone is being looked into. I know that phones have been added to the list of compatible phones. Whether it will be updated for all model year Camaro's or not, again, I am unsure. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. If I do get anything on the connectivity for this phone I'll be sure to let you know.

OK just got an update form my dealer but wont be able to test it out until I get home. He states:

"The Verizon Tech Support Group had heard of your problem and they suggested that you contact Motorola direct, at 800-331-6456. They should be able to open up their security controls on your cell phone's Bluetooth access, to allow you to use your phone in the Camaro."

Hope this helps

I was having the same problem with my EVO after the recent Gingerbread update. I unpaired the phone from the car and started over. When the car trys to connect to your phonebook don`t allow it. Might have to dis allow everytime you connect, but it works. Hope this helps.
