What oil do you all use. A lot of threads seem to have dated info

I would love to know what kind of oil you all use for the track. I have ordered the motul x clean 5w40 for my track day on the 20th but the shipping is all messed up and im afraid it will not be here in time. The whole dexos 2 info seems to have gotten a bit watered. It looks like the list of dexos approved 5w40 or 0w40 has shrank significantly. It appears the only one that I can get by the 20th is the mobil 1 esp 0w40. Which comes in cases of 6 quarts for $74. Which is highway robbery. But I don't think I have a choice. Any advice is much appreciated.

I've ran Liqui Moly 0w40 for hte last 3 seasons. It is not Dexos approved but I don't have a warranty anyways.

You can run 15w-50 for your track day if you don't mind changing it back to 0w-40 or 5w-30 for the street.

Thanks all

RamAir, thats a good idea. I have a SS 1LE not a ZLE though. Do you think it would be better to run the 15w50 than a castrol edge 5w40?

I think most people use Mobil 1 0W40 Dexos2 oil. That's what I use for the track and the street. Going to be about $120 per oil change w/o discounts.

I just run the mobile 1 15w50 all the time. I don’t drive too much on the street anyways. Seems like a waste to change it back and forth like that between events (every 2 months). I might put 200 miles on the car between events anyways.

I also run it full time, but pretty much only drive the car to and from the track.

AutoZone now carries the Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40 Dexos2 oil and some stores stock it or you can have it shipped. Click See Available Deals to get 10 quarts and an 2 STP filters for $77.98. I was able to return unwanted filters to make it an even better deal but that is not guaranteed. I prefer to use the ACDelco OEM filter.

Hilariously enough, after not updating shipping info since I placed my order 10 days ago. I can see that the my motul x clean is now out for delivery LOL. Since I had to buy the 10 quarts of mobil 1 at $10 a court im going to return those. The deal cdrptrks pointed out is pretty good so i may do that when i decide to take the motul out.

Thanks again.
