Diff and oil change today plus rotors

Differential fluid change is easier than an oil change. Didn't think it'd be hard but didn't think it'd be that easy either. How nice.

Pulsation in the cabin/seat when I brake. Not in the pedal or wheel. Did some research. Figured out it's likely pad transfer/deposits. Got the tell tale pad imprint so thought I'd look at my rear rotors and pads. Way too much meat on these pads for half a dozen track days and 25k miles. Need to change that:-) Also too much rust IMHO for a car that's never seen winter, garaged and doesn't get driven in the rain.

For those that struggle with the caliper bolts a breaker bar and pipe work great. I would borderline call it easy and that's coming from a medium build female doing this project solo. Can't speak for the fronts.

It's 2am and I don't have any wire brushes but I will and I think that rust is gonna clean up nice in the morning when I re-tackle this project. Overall couldn't be more pleased with my first attempt at working on this cars brakes.

Nice job, nice to see woman taking care of business. Everything is neat and organized in your work area.

I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m thinking your rust may be a byproduct of washing the car and then parking it. The same may be true for the pad deposit. I always take my car for a short ride after washing it, just to ensure everything is dried out. In particular the brakes…

Deposit is from some spirited driving, hard braking and then came up on some unexpected traffic that I had to sit in.

Since detailing and paint correction is my thing, you're probably right about the rust accumulation from washes.

If you do pull the from rotors and get into a jam with those bolts, I’d suggest this breaker bar. My 1/2” Dewalt impact wouldn’t touch them and this was my best solution.

Possibly.. but since it looks like it’s the shape of the brake pad, it looks like stationary pad deposit. I had the same thing on my first 6th Gen and had to burn it off with some hard braking.

I installed PowerStop rotors and Z23 brake pads earlier this year. Had a lot of pulsation when braking and the stock rotors were definitely warped.
