Came around a corner just out of a small town around here, and there was a straight-a-way around 1-1.5 tenths long.
Impatient, I nailed it. Behaved all day long driving to work, so I figured i would see how it WORKS.
After mashing the accelerator, as usual a fugger came around the corner at the end of the straight-a- way.
Me, I didn't let up. Thought the azz-end of the car lifted slightly, and maybe was gonna rip the asphault off the highway.

Passed those 2 cars like a missile. For an A8 I was astounded. Gawd, what a rush!

Geez, cheap low HP version. WOW, what surprise!!!
Still mild mannered enough to get up to 30mpg in warmish weather.

CAMARO is where it's -AT_!!!!

Love it !!!
For some people, sometimes is not what you need, but what you want, even if doesn't make sense, that's how Cars business works too.

If You don't believe me, look at the Super cars and Hyper cars Business.

Yup I was waiting for that answer lol. Pm me your # and I'll text you a link to my to my youtube and I will let you be the judge on my subpar driving skills

For the record I do my Mexico runs in stick cars (which takes way more driver skill than a auto). So the short answer is no sir not the driver.

A stock 5.0 A10 is nothing special. They are low 12s cars and trap about 115-117. Your CTS-V should have taken it without a sweat. And aren't they automatic only?

I see you’re also from MA. I drive like grandma 99% of the time as there is a cop every 1.4 miles...

Yup, that recent thing this last week where the cop was stabbed 4x by an 18 year old, the 91 corridor going and coming were thick with them, like an outhouse full of flies. They had cars pulled over right and left; but not us. A bit of restraint helps. HP is useless, can't beat the radio.

Fast car fast > Slow car fast > Fast car slow. Problem is, a fast car today can't be driven fast anywhere except a track.

HP is addictive though. Hard to say no to more, which is why I'd probably look at a ZL1 instead of a SS. Both are excessive for the street and if I'm going for excess I'd want to go all the way. Meanwhile my slow V6 manual is actually huge fun on the street because I can wind it out without engaging warp drive.

This 100%

I love my SS after coming from a modded 5th gen V6 (which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way) but it feels like a constant exercise in restraint on the street. If I get to blast it wide open on the street its only for a very short time and then I'm looking around to make sure I'm not going to jail.

The SS is a great car, plenty of power, great handling, great looks, etc...I like 455 hp, but I think the sweet spot for me would be 500 - 550 hp, once the warranty is up we shall see, but at that point I will be ready for a 7th gen SS, which may have 500 + hp, which would probably be the more practical thing for me...but either way, it is still a lot of power for the streets, it gets used but not fully all the time.

I work at a performance shop and our bread and butter are ls/lt motors as well as coyote's. I discussed with the other techs at work and they were not the least bit surprised and said that this outcome was expected but...…… If we had gone to 120+ I would have obviously gapped him.

And yes A8 only on 2016+ cts v's

I test drove a 2018 A10 Mustang GT base with zero options (except the A10). I didn't love the seats....headrest seems like it was too far forward and no electric seat back recline seemed like a cheapskate move my Ford.

But the A10 was awesome. It was smooth, torquey, and hauled when you wanted it to and I liked the steering as well. Very livable car day to day. For $31K (which is what they were going to sell it to me for), it's a heck of performance bargain. I passed on it b/c I've been buying/selling cars to often and I'm waiting on a deal on used ZL1.
But I can understand why anyone would buy the A10 Stang.

I’m kinda here too. I’d probably love a zl1, but I’d just about never get to really use it. I wanted a fast, fun daily and I think if i’d Have gotten a z I would be worried about the miles and trying to keep it in prefect condition.

I am a gm guy but lets be honest here, for a base bare bones car with the A10 the 5.0 for 29k plus ttl is a bargain and performs like a beast even in stock mode. It is not nearly as refined or imho classy as a 6g but bang for buck you really can't go wrong. Smart move waiting on a used Zl1 bc at that point there is absolutely no comparing a Zl to a 5.0.
