Repeat CEL

I have been getting a service engine light on my 2016 SS intermittently. I have taken in to dealership a few times and they "clear the codes" and off I go for another few weeks. I have performed required maintenance/oil changes. The only modification I have done is a range device to disable V4 mode. Could this cause a CEL ? Anyone else out there with repeat CEL's ?

Clear the code, remove said device, and see if it repeats. If notn you'll have your answer.

I tried the Range for a while when I first got the car last August but kept getting CELs. I think it was the transmission control module. Sent it in to Range for a software upgrade and that didn't help. They told me they think there is so much electronics that need to start up when the car is turned on that the Range boots too quickly, but they didn't have any plans to redesign the unit to have it wait a bit longer to start. I quit using it and haven't had any problems or CELs.. The updated version even gave me a CEL in my wife's 2008 GMC Envoy, which had run for a couple of years on the earlier software with no problems.

Yes Range causes CEL's, stopped using mine because of them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but only the auto transmissions have AFM (4 cylinder mode) correct?
