2017+ TCM unlocking question

I'm just wondering if anyone here has any idea what is changed by HPTuners when they unlock a TCM. I don't need to know how to change it just what is changed.
So my question is does anyone here know what is changed or has anyone looked for a difference between a locked an unlocked TCM. And could you tell me what it is.

Sorry this is in the completely wrong area, I was in the regular transmission area not sure how it posted in the buy/sell area
