Hmmm, the Camaro is the least expensive (by a lot) and is the fastest in the realistic 1/4 mile and also around the track ... say no more !!!

Interesting that all but the cheapest (who is the only professional race car driver) chose the ford. Personally, if I had been willing to spend the money when I bought my camaro (that I love beyond belief) I would have bought a dodge hellcat simply because of the HP. But I'm an old guy who still remembers 69 road runners, AND I am so thankful I bought the camaro.

That guy (Pobst) literally just bought a 2.0t 1LE.

He used to race Miatas also.

The tires on the Ford were old. They said so in the video. Fresh tires all across and no doubt the Ford would have won.

Probably, although they never said the ZL1 1LE was on new tires either.

It has also been revealed that the GT500 showed up with the track alignment, but the Camaro did not have the track alignment setup described in the owner's manual. That may make up for any tire disadvantage that the GT500 had.

Also, the tires on the GT500, while very sticky, only provide maximum grip for a few laps before losing maximum grip. For a car that powerful and heavy, it's like 3 laps or so (reportedly). So, this test may actually be more "real world", as three laps are nothing during a day at the track.

The GT500 is a nice car, fast on the track, fun on the street, sounds great, tons of power, etc. Downsides (IMHO) are price, CFTP price, ADMs, and no manual.

I think the overall best car was the GT500. The best track weapon was the ZL1 1LE. I won't even mention the Redeye. It doesn't deserve to be in this conversation anymore. Still, despite the GT500's existence, I'd still chose a GT350 over it.

This has been heavily discussed in the vs section. The ford had old tires, Ford chose to send it in that condition, the camaro didn't have the track alignment done but wasn't mentioned as I don't believe they factored it during the time of filming. Excuses can be made on both sides, results are what they are.

Ford didn't send anything. The guys at Throttle House do not have clout like that just yet. All of the vehicles showcased on their channel are either loaned to them via viewers, car rental programs or through promotions, like Omaze. This is also why they didn't swap out to fresh tires prior to the track testing.

If you go over to the Vs thread....James from Throttle House responded in there and said Ford did indeed send them the GT500.
