I had the dealer throw mine on at the 500 mile oil change. If I wanted the car to decide when to shift I would have bought an auto.

That's the one I have. Works perfectly. It's simply a resistor and two connectors... hard to mess that up.

On my '00 Z28, I just used a resistor and taped off the connector - worked perfectly for the 12 years I owned that car. For the '17, I decided it would be nice to have the connectors on the harness and solenoid for a more stock appearance and to seal off the connections from moisture.

and dangerous. I got caught in a situation in my 04 Corvette where I was turning behind another vehicle and I needed to get out of oncoming traffic. Damn thing forced me from 1st into 4th without enough power. I barely got out of the way. Installed the skip shift eliminator right after that.

Forced you? As in the shifter pulled itself into 4th?

Shift 1-3-5. No troubles. My wife will tell you a have no trouble spending money so cost isn’t the issue. I honestly don’t see the need,.

Honestly why is this even a discussion? Everyone knows it's there...

You choose to shift from 1-3, do it...

You choose to accelerate past the point it interferes, do it....

You choose to install a skip shift, do it...

Life is full of choices, do what suits your needs.. you don't need to justify your choice to anyone, or let anyone make a decision for you..

Interesting. If you have issues with the new one, make sure the connector is completely latched. I'm assuming you did this, but it's in an awkward / hard to reach location.

I endured it until this happened to me, as said the majority of the time it's not a problem until it is. GM added this little feature to spare you the gas guzzler tax that would be levied on this vehicle, it's a simple fix with a $13 - $20 dongle and well worth the time and money IMHO.

I ordered mine directly from Casper. This is the brand that Summit and Jegs sells.

I've had mine on that i got from Gen5DIY since 2016, and love it. Because of my driving style when just cruising or going about my day, it would always ALWAYS give me the damn skip shift which annoyed the crap out of me, and so i got the eliminator and installed it, and love it. Now, i just look at the dash whenever the alert to shift from 1st to 4th and cant help but smirk a little from time to time knowing its no longer an interference. best and cheapest mod.

Thanks I just ordered the same one.
After installing it, which is kind of difficult if you don't have skinny hands to be able to reach it. But after driving with it, I consider it the best upgrade for the $. Now I perfectly can shift my car without any intervention from that gasoline saving feature.

Just that one in my 1LE last Thursday, works great!
