Super simple. I pull and clean mine about every two weeks. But that mostly because I like to slice up a air freshener and place the small slivers into the filter. Air that pours out of my AC smells good AF. And even the cheap air fresheners last a couple weeks.
No I don’t put nearly enough of them to clog the air flow. Been running this life hack on my cars for over a decade with literally no issue. Unless you call a new air freshener paired with heat full blast making my smell goods VERY strong and issue lol. |

It's very similar to most other cars. Detach the glovebox and there you are. You will need some elbow grease to make the glovebox come off.
I personally use a charcoal air filter. As for air freshener, I recently got a small essential oil diffuser to give my car some pleasant smell. Not a big fan of synthetic air freshener.

How about just dousing the filter with some HAI KARATE and calling it a day

I just had the dealer change mine when it was in for other service. I don't remember the exact cost to change it, but it was not very much
