The more likely scenario. If it's true history repeats the RPO Z4C on the gen four at it's death is an example. Tape and badges are cost effective way to push cars they are planning to forget about.

It used to be adding an engine from an existing family (small block) was more acceptable. Engine mounts, wiring, plumbing, transmissions, etc. were all the same. So the engineering would mostly be about drivability and durability.

Adding a 5.5 off of another engine family is far more expensive as a lot more work has to be done, including basic packaging.

I like your idea, and if it happened it would be a big message on the longevity of the car.

I just don't see it making GM more money if they do it.

Z/28 cough, cough

5th Gen didn't sell well because it was priced wrong. That's an easy fix. What I'm suggesting is IF GM were to do a Z/28 to end 6th Gen, that would be the way to do it. Very unlikely for the reasons Number 3 cited. Possible, but very unlikely.

At least GM isn't constantly teasing you about a Z/28. Be thankful of that.

Went to visit my local dealer to discuss ordering a 2021 Camaro. Denied in California. Was Informed 2022 Camaro refresh and early ordering in April? Featuring updated electronics, brakes, caliper colors, 475 hp. New colors Synergy green & Burnt orange metallic. IDK

-Integrated dry-sump system
-Revised block to incorporate mid-engine configuration

The possibility for the LT2 intake to fit under the hood of the Camaro is questionable. It's likely, easily, possible with changed engine mounts to lower the engine (bu how much?). However, word is that the under-side of the LT2 intake is configured to the LT2 (keep in mind the intake faces the opposite way in the C8) and requires either a spacer or some modification to the intake to fit on the LT1 correctly.

The LT2 block will, simply, not mount-up easily in the Camaro as it was designed for mid-engine layout.

It would be cool to see GM make an "LT3" variant of the LT2 by applying the LT2 intake (or modified variant) and include the LT2 cam to provide an upgrade to the LT1/L87 for a specialty truck and upgraded Camaro SS.
exhaust headers are the same for the base stingray and the Z51 car, the LT2 intake fits just fine on the LT1, many have done it already here on the forum

Have not heard of an 2022 changes, only reason why some 2021 camaro models are not being sold in California is due to the composition of the brake pad materials.

Exactly! 2021 models already on dealer lots can still be sold, but new 2021 cannot be ordered. The new brake pads come in in 2022. No model refresh, but I have heard rumors of more power. That could be accomplished via LT2 intake and other tweaks.
