That was a good deal. CSP is a good shop and I would do the fuel system upgrade while you are at it. Also you might just save some money and get a bolt-in set of cat delete pipes.

Thanks! So you think I should get cat delete pipes instead of the longtube headers? could you link a set that you recommend or use?

Nothing wrong with headers and they will make more power but they are only worth about 15-20whp over cat delete pipes. It just depends if you feel like spending 1600 with labor for headers or likely less then 500.00 for cat deletes installed. I believe Solo performance makes a bolt-in set of deletes or you can look around and try to find a set of CA delete pipes used for around 250.00. Easy to install so you could save money on labor and do them yourself.

Went down almost the same path as you. I purchased and installed my own whipple, but also did the LT4 HPFP, injectors and roto-fab dry from the start. The HPFP is under the supercharger, so if you do it later you have to pull it off to do the LT4 fuel upgrade, so just do it at the same time, save some labor. CSP even tuned my car several times, stock, whipple, whipple without cats and then with 2" kooks. Also make sure you get the LS front oil seal.

CSP tuned the car throughout all of the info below, so this is a very good comparison, same dyno, same tuner.

*Stock the car made 429/440.

*With the whipple, LT4 fueling, roto-fab dry and 3.50 pulley it made 597/591. (they said the cats were getting hot and recommended I get rid of them next)
Gain from stock: 168/151.

*Then did new era performance cat delete pipes and Borla ATAK full exhaust it made 620/595. Deleting the cats make these cars LOUD and sound terrible thru the stock exhaust, IMHO of course.
Gain over previous: 23/4 from cat delete

*For the money I dont think LT headers are worth it. But I did them! So 2" kooks jet coated ($1182), with a roto-fab big gulp ($573) and a NW 103 TB ($650) and LT4 low side it made 654/618.
Gain from previous: 34/23
Gain from stock: 225/178

Hope this helps!

yeah thats the main reason I want to do it now is because the whipple will have to come back off for the fuel upgrade later.. thinking i'm gonna do lt4 fuel system and cat delete. and i currently have a borla atak axle back, hopefully that sounds good with cat delete

I ended up putting a Borla resonator in the mid pipe to help with the raspy sound. Its just the nature of no cats and the way these engines sound.

Yep I left my secondary cats in place for some sound control. The primaries are the main restriction. Or you can do the resonators....either way you will likely want something.
