Paint was strip washed using Adams Blue Shampoo and APC in foam gun (2oz each) and in soap bucket (2oz shampoo/4oz APC). Microfiber Madness Incredimitt was used along with 2 bucket w/grit guards. This mitt is by far the best one I've ever used.

Bonded contaminates were removed with SM Arnold Speedy Prep towel (fine grade), using Ultima WW plus concentrate for lube. Residue was wiped off with Rag Company Everest 1100 towels.

Entire car was wiped down with Carpro Eraser prior to polishing to remove any residual oils. Fresh Everest 1100 towels used for this step. These towels are extremely absorbent, and safer on the paint then waffle weave towels.

Polishing was done with Carpro Essence, on a Rupes 21 w/5" backing plate, with Kevin Brown washer mod, using a Meguiar's DMF microfiber finishing pad. Essence is actually a finishing polish, contains durable fillers, and leaves a coat of Silica protection that lasts up to a year.

The DMF pad was used due to very light wash marring on paint. My car hadn't been polished for a year, it's an un-garaged daily driver.
Been washed 60-70x since last polishing. One very slow pass was all that was needed. Speed 4.5. Only pressure applied was the weight of my hand.

After polishing Carpro Reload was applied (for additional protection and hydrophobic benefit) using Rag Company Eagle Edgeless Blue for application, and Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile for final wipe.

Show us your reflections!

Blue Velvet Metallic
1. Wash, 2. Clay bar, 3. Paint correction, 4. Paint polish, 5. Seal, 6. Glaze, 7. Wax.
I use the cyclo polisher and all Adams products. Did this the day I brought it home on June 28th and have done nothing but detail spray and microfiber cloth since. This pic was taken last weekend at Cars and Coffee.
My initial detailing of the above took 8hrs.

Optimum Opti Gloss Coat (2 coats)!

Here's my process:

CarPro IronX Snow Soap: I saw the red iron reaction around the wiper blades
Chemical Guys Clean Slate Car Wash to remove everything
Clay sponge

I had some light marring, a couple of swirls, etc. Very light so I tested the paint with my lightest polish and an orange pad and the Cyclo Pro 5 polisher:

Chemical Guys P40 cleaning polish- still saw scratches so I went to
Chemical Guys VSS- still saw scratches so I went to
Chemical Guys V36 and orange pad: Bingo! Almost 100% removal of scratches.
Final polish with Chemical Guys V38 and white pad

Wipedown with 15% alcohol solution

Applied Optimum Opti Gloss Coat with the included sponge applicator. Very easy application.

Applied second coat 18 hours later.

Applied Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax (I had some free sample bottles), a spray synthetic polymer wax on top of the Opti Gloss Coat. Cloudy day but looks good. I used the Quik Wax like a waterless wash, spraying heavily.

What the usual wash and detail includes:
- Wash with SudzBox Foam Gun and Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss Shampoo
- Wheels with SudzBox Crimson Wheel Cleaner and SudzBox Shadow Wheel/ Trim Dressing
- Dry with application of Chemical Guys After-Wash and Wooly Mammoth Towel
- Windows I usually use Invisible Glass for inside and Rain-X for the outside (been using wax lately however for window exterior)
- Clay Bar
- Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax
- Chemical Guys Speed Wipe Quick Detailer

In these pictures I actually ONLY used the Chemical Guys EcoSmart-RU Waterless Wash and Wax and followed up with the Speed Wipe. Didnt even do the wheels

I need to get a orbit polisher to get the little swirls out.

What do you guys think???
