Exclamation SIDE VIEW MIRRORS ARE DIFFERENT WIDTHS!

FYI - while driving our Camaro for several hours we noticed that the side view mirrors seemed to be different widths. I measured them and they are different.
The passenger's side mirror is 9 1/4 inches wide.
The driver's side mirror is 8 1/2 inches wide.

Soooooo be careful when judging how much room you think you have on the passenger side when pulling into your garage or getting close to an object on the passenger side!

I also finally figured out why they are so big.....they eliminate the blind spots!! Looking over your shoulder to change lanes is futile without these large mirrors!

I think I've noticed this on other cars as well. I'm sure it's to minimize blind spots so I don't mind.

There's probably a very good reason...Mercedes has been doing it for years. My uncle's 1990-whatever E320 has a really small passenger side view mirror.
