Whoa, what is that???
So I am officially TIRED of working on my car. 4 days straight but today I pretty much finished up. Got the rod inserts in and the steering bushing in. No clue the point of the steering bushing. I think it's a way Pedders can suck $25 out of us. Gordy and I fell for it. anywho, got that stuff in, changed the oil, replaced the worn out shifter bushings which made a HUGE difference. I had wobbly Hurst shifter but all is right in the world now! also got the tires loaded up to be switched tomorrow. Tomorrow I will put the tires on and clean it up. Guess I'll clean up the garage too It better not freakin rain Saturday!!! |

OK, all you guys doing these DIY mods and installs are driving me crazy.
So here's how it goes for me, I needed to change my oil after 100 miles of my engine being disassembled, trip to Harbour Freight for racing jack and stands.......... $125 trip to Advanced for oil and filter................................ $70 trip back to Advanced for filter wrench....................... $6 (I haven't changed oil at home in over 10 years, those really big steel strap wrenches don't work on these small filters) trip back to Advanced for another filter wrench............ $6 (guess every filter manufacturer uses a different size canister with different numbers of ridges for the wrench. ) gas for all these trips............................................. . $? three hours of labor............................................. .... $too much (and I still didn't get the filter changed don't ask) Knowing I can go to a shop next time and have it done in 20 minutes for only $100.... Priceless |

Yep, last time I went to a dealer, I had to go back and look for parts they left on the floor!
Maybe with time I'll get that cost and time down under $100. It's been a while since I've got to roll around and lay on the driveway. And it was my first chance to see the coated headers....man, they look awesome! |

Lol. I get the filter M1-113 from AutoZone and two 5QT jugs of oil from WalMart. $14 for the filter and $26 each for the oil. So I'm at about $70 with tax and it takes longer to jack up the darn car! I maintain my whole fleet though so it's always something.
I think there is another exhaust leak on the Honda. Kris got a nice raise so were considering a new car sooner. Id hate to tho yet... Just not yet. |

I also buy the oil from Wal-Mart and filters from Amazon though I prefer the K&N HP-1017 filters because they can be removed with a 1" socket. |
