Mine is on all the time too and it doesn’t bother me though but everyone is different.

It's a holdover from the good ol' days when people had physical maps in their cars and needed a constant light to read them at night (hence the name "map light"). I think it's always on at night, but I pay no attention to it, so I may easily be wrong.


BTW I wonder if people are also bothered by the discreet white LEDs on either side of the infotainment panel

My 2020 2ss vert never had that light on. Weird.

Make sure you don't have the cabin lights set to MAX. That will keep the light on.

You all are making me curious about mine but I'm too lazy to uncover the car and find out if it's on in mine or not. I think it's off. Apparently I'm not bugged by it if it is on....

It's on in all 6th gens. Other cars do it as well, nowadays it's more of a feature so you're not sitting in complete darkness at night
