I'm just glad that the vehicles I own, I love them all, and they are all "newer". So I won't be in a vehicle market for a number of years.

One of my coworkers returned her BMW X1 lease and got a 3 series sedan this past weekend. Dealer gave her a $7500 credit for the X1. I didn't ask if they did ADM on her 3 series but I'm pretty sure she leased it as well.

I think what is happening on the leases is that folks are turning in their current cars and getting a nice credit as you mentioned to help offset the huge down payment required to lease a new one. For example, let's say the BMW is normally $3k down and $500 a month, now it is $7k down and $500 a month and they use the positive equity over the residual from the lease trade.

A smarter financial move would be to buy out the existing lease and have $7,500 that positive equity. Then decide what you want to do. Drive it until you see prices start dropping, sell it for top dollar to Carvana, etc.

It is nice to see some owners not jump on the price gouging bandwagon. The Autonation dealer by me said we will sell the vehicles at MSRP minus any rebates you qualify for.

They said we are a publicly traded company and do not want to hear a bunch of negative press and we value return customer business once we get through this supply chain mess. When I was shopping for my ZL1 in this market I did find a few dealers that I would never do business with again in the future. You get to see their true colors in situations like this.

Be patient everyone. Think about it - within 6 months, Chevy dealers will be trying to sell all those waiting to chipped 2021s! I bought a 2021 1SS Shock Convertible on September 30 with $2000 off plus any incentives I qualified for, which was $1,500 GM dollars.

I just bought a brand new GMC Sierra 2k under sticker in the South Florida area. The deals are getting harder to locate but still exist.

This is unfortunate, because I'm not going to pay 5k over sticker for a new car. I'll either wait or I'll buy something else. Just curious if other folks are seeing this.
I have a 2022 Camaro SS being built right now. Found it in the pipeline and was able to secure the SS at MSRP, about the best you can do in the current situation. Walked out on a dealer that insisted on more than MSRP

I'm putting my order in as soon as they start accepting orders which my dealer told me was about December 16. Ordering one of the 3.0 Duramax diesels in a Gmc Slt or a Chevy Ltz and hopefully getting it by sometime in February. I have a 2021 6.2 Ltz now that has about 5000 miles on it and I could sell it right now for as much as I paid for it.

I had the same experience, $5,000 over MSRP. Flat told the salesman I was not paying anything over MSRP, That's bad enough! Said goodbye and started out the door, he said wait, wait.....I'll go talk to him again. So off he went, took way to long, comes back and tells me they still need at least $2,000 over MSRP. Said goodbye and out the door I went with him standing there looking bewildered.

Salesman texted me the next afternoon and said the Sales Manager that insisted on MSRP+++ was fired and his boss was willing to go with MSRP on the '22 I wanted. I had already driven to the dealer nearest my house and made a deal on a Black SS 2S, should be here 1st part of January

Just reading the made me feel the need to take a shower. In this day and age, with almost every person having access to the internet so they can compare prices at multiple places and read up on reviews not only covering the quality of customer service at a location (including theirs) but also readily available tips and tricks on how to buy a car and how to avoid being ripped off, these jackasses still want to play these games. And the industry wonders why it is looked upon so unfavorably.

Just paid MSRP minus GM Card $… I’m fine with that. Unloading two cars way above market $ helped soften the MSRP blow.

What prevents GM from just raising prices?
