409 works good on water spots on glass. Wouldn't use it on paint nor would i use paper towels. These cars have soft, wimpy paint that swirls very easily. I had to have mine professionally buffed and detailed to remove the dealers swirls even after I told them not to wash it. They did anyway.
I had those weird spots too. I tried almost everything with zero success. Disappeared after I had paint correction performed. As for Xpel or any of the other paint protection films, they are expensive. I was quoted $5k for bumper, rockers, front fenders and rear quarters. Front bumper alone was $800. Uh no, would never recoup the cost on a Camaro. Maybe if it was a lambo or something. Ceramic coating is also popular but also expensive and wont protect against swirls. That was another $1500. Lol no. Just wash it carefully when necessary and wax it with good old carnuba.

Not sure who quoted 1500 for ceramic and 5k for EXPEL. Did my front bumper and side rockers and ceramic for 1000k. No need to EXPEL the whole car, just do the front end the factory already did the rear rockers. You can do ceramic yourself once you have paint correction done. But the EXPEL is well worth it, bugs and everything wipe right off. No need to do quarter panels. Speaking with a professional detailer he said the paint on the camaro is pretty hard compared to others. Really depends if you want to keep it a while or plan on driving it for a couple years and trading in.

Troll Post?
I hope you aren't referring to ME! A ate crow by my first genuine Camaro6 post when I said I bought a 2018 and traded in my 2013. Over time I came to warm up to 6th Gens. Long time Camaro6 fans know I was less than thrilled with the 6th Gen in 2016 with my issues with the redesign. Quarter seam on light colors, pinched too tight upper grille and kiddie sized steering wheel. I am a convert and over all wowed with my Hyper Blue RS. A few minor things still get me with the interior, space & infotainment system connectivity to my iPod, but hey I have an aux cable, just won't be able to see graphics on the 8 inch screen. I have way too much music for a phone's storage. 284 miles so far |

No xpel or ceramic for me. I'm over it. I drive the car maybe once a week if that. Probably worth it for the daily drivers.

I found 2 more round spots behind back side glass on sail panel right before it flattens out on hips. Weird location on both sides. I'll get some polishing compound before I tackle them. And give that a go before the rubbing compound.
