Just yesterday I went back 20 pages in the engine/exhaust subforum for that reason. Lots of info going back to 2015. Didn't know long tubes eliminate stock cats. Killed my incentive. It would likely be too loud for me going catless.

I've got a set sitting here in a box waiting for me to find a good weekend to put them on. I'll let you know.

What do you need your stock cats for vs a High Flow Cat? Last edited by ZMEnow; 04-20-2020 at 08:24 AM. |

From what I remember these fit pretty good on the 5gen. 2" will always give you some issues some where so just make sure you have good clearance before you bolt them up. From what I remember the steering shaft boot sits very close. Keep an eye for anywhere you're not getting about a 1/2" or more of clearance. If not, make a mark on the header, pull it out and dent it (we usually use a breaker bar and a mini sledge hammer to dent them). Last edited by Juiced1; 04-30-2020 at 08:43 AM. |

You can always opt for the high flow cats from TSP and any other header MFG. Running headers with the factory cats would be a waste of a header. The factory cats are just as restrictive as the manifolds are. |

good info.. thanx guys.....what i was thinking about doing is bumping up my volumetric efficency by adding 2" headers,
3" exhaust, RPM 5" intake , NW 102 throttle body i think it would be pretty easy to port the blower snout myself to make the 102 work... what do you guys think?? is it worth it?

2" headers are great for power. Some 2" primaries ,if there are problems, are going to be near the steering column on the driver side. If it touches bonk it with a hammer a tad. 2" primary FTW!!

Primarily because of the pics you posted of melted hi flow cats. Have they been improved since then? I don't need more power, just love the sound and want a little more. Don't want to draw too much attention though. I would like the rough idle cam just for the pleasure of listening to it.
I was thinking ARH ceramic coated with stock catback, CAI, plugs, wires, 14/15 tray underneath. Then I have the original SC without a rattle (yet), so have some concern about warranty problems later. I could just do the solid isolator myself but don't really want to. Getting pretty lazy with age. |

Yes,
I had my shop install the 2" TSP Headers, Offroad Connection Pipes to 3" Corsa Sport Exhaust. While it is very loud, it is a race car, and I daily my civic, so when I'm operating my ZL1, I'm alive. If you want quieter, you can always do a LT header to Offroad connection and leave the NPP. Especially if you do a mild to wild switch, and cruise around with it closed, or if it's early in the morning or late at night for a car show. Perfect balance if you ask me. Do it!
